OUR SPECIALTY

Tropical Hardwoods, Inc. has specialized in buying Honduras Rosewood for marimbas and xylophones taking care to obtain only the best rosewood available. We are a small company with the goal of careful hands-on attention, inspecting every board before we ship it to the U.S.A.  We air dry our wood under special built air drying sheds for 3-5 years (sometimes longer) which provides extra stability to the wood. Our kiln drying process brings the wood down to a 6% moisture content ensuring the user even better stability and the clearest possible sound for this wood. We store and mill the rosewood and padauk here in Missouri at a mill in the Ozark Mountains 100 miles south of St. Louis.
